Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Serves 1015 mins prep12 mins cook
Some things are worth the time and effort of making from scratch and, to me, mashed potatoes is one of them. Nothing beats that creamy, fluffy texture of homemade mashed potatoes. My garlic mashed potatoes are a great side dish from a quick weeknight meal to an elaborate holiday feast. They are one of those things that seem to always have a place at the table.

Instructions
0 Mince garlic and set aside. Wash and peel potatoes. Cut potatoes into 1 ½ inch cubes. 1 Place potatoes in stock pot with water. Bring to a low boil and add 1 ½ Tbsp of salt and dissolve. Bring to a rolling boil and then cook for 10-12 minutes. 2 Melt butter in a separate stock pot on medium heat. Once melted, add in garlic and cook for 2 minutes. Then, add in heavy cream and put on low heat to keep cream and butter mixture warm. You don’t want cold cream or butter going into the potatoes. 3 Strain potatoes and let sit for 5 minutes. Then use your potato ricer OR mixer to mash the potatoes. 4 Pour the butter mixture and remaining salt and pepper into the mashed potatoes and stir until creamy. 5 Serve and enjoy!View original recipe
